Job Details
Tusculum University is currently accepting applications for the ARCHES Academic Advisor with the college’s Student Support Services TRIO Program officing at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, TN. This is a full-time, 12-month position. This person will serve as the academic advisor of record for TRIO participants in the Adult and Online Studies (AOS) program. This individual will also be tasked with recruiting first-generation, income-eligible students for the ARCHES program. Duties will include: assisting students with a graduation plan, course selection, and academic performance review. In advancing the mission of the ARCHES Student Support Services program, the advisor will monitor students’ academic progress toward degree completion, promote integration into the collegiate community, schedule/promote ARCHES events, and provide other academic support relative to TRIO Programs.
20% of the advisor’s time will be directly with Tusculum’s Director of Adult and Online Studies Recruitment to facilitate and support recruitment to Tusculum’s AOS programs.
On occasion, evening and/or weekend work is required. The position is funded through the duration of the current grant cycle ending August 31, 2025.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have a master’s degree in education, social or behavioral sciences, counseling, college student personnel, or related field. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with diverse populations-particularly non-traditional/adult learner students. Previous experience with TRIO Programs or experience in education and/or social service fields is desirable.
