Job Details
The New Student Experience Assistant will play a vital role supporting the onboarding experience for new students. They will assist in the planning and facilitation of new student orientation sessions and are responsible for the navigator readiness process. They will be responsible for tracking and reporting data to the director. This position will work with approximately 5-10 part-time, temporary student Orientation Leaders. The New Student Experience Assistant will call prospective students to provide their next step in the enrollment process and registration for new student orientation. This position requires initial contact and follow-through to a prospective student's attendance at an orientation session. The goal is to ensure that the applicants are registered for class and attend an orientation session. This position will be responsible for maintaining the front office and is the primary initial point of contact for email, telephone and in-person inquiries. The New Student Experience Assistant position requires excellent communication skills and will include relationship building with other departments. This position is also responsible for maintaining and updating the student navigation tracking list using Microsoft Excel.
Required Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of one (1) year of office or customer service (phone and in person) experience. Effective customer service skills required. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, administrators,and the general public. Ability to work in a structured setting, with established goals, procedures and policies. Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite Possess excellent problem-solving skills
