Conduct assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purposes of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of a CTE adjunct faculty member is to teach and facilitate knowledge and skills as related to current industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1.Develop consistent procedures in class based on industry workflow practices.
2.Modeling and adopting good file management skills on local and remote servers.
3.Knowledge on how to analyze, troubleshoot and find solutions in a classroom environment.
4.Knowledge of any or all Adobe CC applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Animate.
5.Teach – interact with students to provide opportunities to learn, create conditions that facilitate learning, and using techniques and methods that create a high probability that learning will occur.

Functional Attributes of Job Duty Minimum Qualifications

1.Candidate must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
2.Associate’s degree (AAS) or higher in a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
3.Must have, or be eligible for a full-time Colorado Vocational Credential in Information Technology at the post-secondary level issued by the Aims Community College, CTE director.
a. This will require at least two years (4,000 hours) of approved experience in the Graphic Design area.
The preference is 8,000 – 10,000 hours of work experience or a combination of work and teaching experience.
4.Ability to design and present curriculum in a Distance Learning format. Currently the college utilizes Desire to Learn Course Management software. Adjunct faculty are required to receive training in the Aims Online environment.
5.A commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy, including a sincere belief that each individual should be allowed an opportunity to succeed regardless of past experience.
6.Ability and willingness to work as team member as exhibited by a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications

1.Prior work experience using Adobe CC software applications and continuous learning of the technology.
2.Exhibits the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
3.Shall have good verbal and written communication skills.
4.Shall be self-directed and self-motivated.
5.Graphic Design and Rich Media background and experience in one or more of the following topic areas: Graphic Design, Web Design, Game Design, or Animation.
6.Previous teaching experience in Graphic Design, Web Design or Animation is a plus, but not required.
