Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Three years professional experience in a related field. Five years related experience preferred. Additional education may be used in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Performs advanced coordinator duties for the Correctional Management Institute of Texas (CMIT).

Primary Responsibilities

Plans and develops various trainings and large conferences. Responsible for multiple program budgets. Utilizes independent judgement regarding decisions and actions. Effectively directs project work. Assists professional associations with maintaining the membership database and preparing and providing reports for the board. Corresponds with members. Helps with conference planning and preparation. Maintains hotel and vendor contracts. Assists with website management and journal/newsletter edits. Corresponds with trainers and agencies for the successful development and delivery of Institute trainings. Maintains participant records and provides reports on the activities assigned for the Institute’s administration. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to supervise business functions.
Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies.
