Provides leadership and administrative oversight for the Student Services area. As a member of the President’s Cabinet the Dean of Students is an active participant in University wide planning and policy decisions. Must have a valid driver’s license. Will need to work some evenings, nights and weekends as needed. Some travel required. Detailed knowledge of HIPPA, FERPA, and Title IX required.

Responsible for the University’s student body’s welfare. This includes student activities, accommodations, parental communications; supervising student interaction(s) with local law enforcement and medical facilities as needed; developing an environment open to a diverse student body and accepting of and accommodating to international students’ needs; collaborating closely with the Athletic Department on all activities and actions concerning student athletes; and collaborating closely with the Physical Plant to ensure student residence halls are maintained, enhanced and safe.

Responsible for Student Services Administration. This includes supervising, training and evaluating staff in the areas of Residence Life, Student Activities, Student Conduct, Student Health Center and Performing Arts; developing, monitoring, and assessing budgets; developing, monitoring and assessing policies, events and procedures that have an impact on student experience (both residential and commuter); managing communications of policies, events and procedures to all students; working closely and collaboratively with faculty, administrators, students, staff, alumni, parents, community groups, employers and other stakeholders with a connection to the University and the students; providing leadership and coordination to special University programs / events as necessary; and assisting with and coordinating ongoing professional development programs for Student Services staff.

Qualifications Master’s Degree

*PhD or EdD preferred.

Seven years of comprehensive leadership experience reporting to the chief administrator responsible for the student development / student life department. Experience managing budgets, personnel, residence halls, student conduct and strategic planning is required. Must have the ability to articulate and work within the values of an Ignatian Spirituality, derived from work and / or experience. A degree from a Jesuit institution is preferred.
