Under the general supervision of the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, the Director of Planning, Policy & Grant Program Support manages and provides leadership for data collection, reporting, and presentations related to strategic planning and policy decisions related to college effectiveness and student success, and coordinates collection of grant-related information for proposals and reports.This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:

    Supervises and directs team of professional, paraprofessional, and clerical personnel required for internal and external reports to support college, campus, program and district area planning and policy analysisAssists with initiating and performing research and policy analyses relevant to anticipated institutional planning, policy, and decision-making needsAssists with the coordination of College strategic planning processes including review, development, and monitoring implementation of plansAssists the institution in identifying and understanding emerging trends and significant environmental changes to support the College in its planning and development efforts; Coordinates with College leadership to develop research projects and provides college-wide support in obtaining dataSupervises work related to internal and external scans and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analyses to identify emerging trends, significant changes, and potential impact on the college to support effective planningConsults with Business Affairs and Governmental Affairs to prepare and present timely analyses of the impact expected from policy changes at the college, state, and federal levels to support decision making Monitors data collection and oversees the preparation of summaries for grant proposals and ongoing research projectsMonitors implementation of research projects approved by the Institutional Review BoardDevelops research projects and summaries of external research related to Strategic Plan goals, program needs assessments, and other reports for College decision-making.Supervises collection and internal reporting of data to support program review, baccalaureate program development, and accreditation requirementsPrepares written reports and presents findings and recommendations to college groups and assists personnel in using dataPrepares written reports for external audiencesDevelops and monitors college, campus, and district area planning timeline and assists appropriate groups with planning efforts and coordinating collection of planning documentsActs as a primary resource for requests from College personnel related to developing proposals for research conducted at MDCRepresents the College on local, state, and national committees as appropriate to the areas of immediate supervisory responsibilityPerforms other duties as assigned

    Master’s degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, policy analysis, and research activities in education or related field with two (2) years at the supervisory level; or Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, policy analysis, and research activities in education or related field with two (2) years at the supervisory level
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, policy analysis and educational research
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge of strategic planning models, program review, and policy analysisKnowledge of quantitative and qualitative research design principles and guidelinesKnowledge of survey research design, sampling, and interpretation of resultsPossess excellent writing and presentation skillsAbility to summarize and present technical data and findings to non-technical usersSkill in conducting focus groups, structured interviews and facilitating group discussionsKnowledge of SAS or related programming softwareStrong supervisory and project management skillsKnowledge of state, federal, and accreditation reporting requirements related to postsecondary education Proficiency in Microsoft Office program applications and presentation softwareAbility to work and speak effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, staff, leaders, and community groups
  • Ability to a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, and weekends
