Job Details
Under the direction of the Alexandria Campus Associate Dean of Learning & Technology Resources, provide reference and circulation services to students, faculty, staff and community patrons. Maintains library displays and participates in Library outreach.
Duties and Responsibilities•Plan, develop and implement engaging library programming and student activities.
•Create, manage, and curate stimulating, timely, and relevant library displays.
•Participate in collection development activities.
•Participate in professional development and campus and/or college committees and activities.
Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience; some experience in customer service.
Preferred QualificationsWork experience in higher education; work experience in libraries or customer similar customer service; web page design and maintenance; experience managing social media platforms; experience; event/program planning experience.
Interest/experience producing engaging events, creative displays, and effective marketing.
•Knowledge of library procedures and online library systems
•Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
•Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
•knowledge of automated library or information systems and procedures;
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, interpret and follow complex policies and procedures
•Knowledge and experience with MS Office or similar office productivity software
•Significant relevant library and/or customer service experience
•Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and reach library shelving
