Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Curriculum, the Program Assistant supports faculty and students in the teaching and evaluation of student performance; creates, coordinates and disseminates relevant information and class schedules for students, faculty and staff; serves as a resource for student directed learning issues.

The Pre-Clerkship Curriculum Coordinators are responsible for: implementing, scheduling and monitoring the first two years of the medical school curriculum including the educational component in the classroom; all details connected with small group learning; coordinating room scheduling and class scheduling in collaboration with the facilities department.


  • Creates and coordinates all course information and grid scheduling for the first two years of the curriculum in RowanSOM in coordination with the School’s Academic Calendar. This includes:
  • Serving as primary administrative liaison with faculty regarding course scheduling
  • Maintaining the One45 curriculum management system
  • Coordinating proctors and rooms for examinations for first and second year exams
  • Arranging for room reservations for all academic programming for first and second year curricula
  • Initiates investigation of student and clinical faculty concerns, identifies problems, recommends solutions, acts as a resource and mediator
  • Updates the writing/editing of the Educational Handbook concerning the curriculum.
  • Collaborates with members of Academic Affairs to help improve processes
  • Manages One45 online course and instructor evaluation system of courses in first two years of medical school
  • Summarizes results and reports statistics of course and faculty evaluations to Assistant Dean of Curriculum
  • Maintains map of curriculum content for the first two years’ curricula
  • Undertakes special tasks and projects as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Curriculum and the Phase Director.
  • Serves as staff for the Curriculum Committee and attends all meetings of Curriculum Committee and its subcommittees.
  • Understands and adheres to the School’s compliance standards as they appear in RowanSOM’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rowan regulations, laws and policies as they currently exist and as they are modified
  • Provides intermittent clerical cross- coverage as needed to Academic Affairs under the Director of Academic Affairs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's Degree is preferred plus one (1) year of education related experience, preferably in a higher education setting. Must be MS Office literate including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with Blackboard and One45 preferred.
