Job Description
The W. A. Franke College of Business (FCB) at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff, Arizona invites tenure-track applications for two assistant and one associate/full professor of management to begin August 2020.

Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching one of the following areas: strategy, OB/HR, supply chain/operations, entrepreneurship, and project management. Research responsibilities include maintaining an active research agenda with a focus on publication in high-quality, refereed journals. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to work with other faculty to create and implement innovative curricula and learning approaches.


Minimum Qualifications
For Assistant Professor and Associate Professor Positions:

    Doctorate from an AACSB, EQUIS, or ABET accredited institution in management or related field. ABDs will be considered but will be appointed at the rank of instructor until degree is completed. The doctorate must be completed within one year of the hire date.Meet scholarly academic qualification requirements in accordance with FCB and AACSB guidelines (https://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/standards/business);
For Associate Professor/Professor Positions:

    To be considered for appointment at the associate level or above applicants must demonstrate success in teaching and research publication consistent with NAU faculty appointment criteria.Meet scholarly academic qualification requirements in accordance with FCB and AACSB guidelines (https://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/standards/business);

Preferred Qualifications
    An established record of publishing in high-quality, nationally recognized refereed journals.A research agenda with potential to publish in high-quality, nationally recognized, refereed academic journals.Evidence of successful and significant teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level as shown by course evaluations.Desire to work with other faculty to create and implement innovative curricula and learning approaches including adapting classes for online course delivery.Prior industry work experience and/or international experience a plusCandidates that are willing and able to teach in a wide range of management areas including strategy, OB/HR, supply chain/operations, entrepreneurship, and project managementEvidence of, or potential for, excellence in working with diverse constituencies

Northern Arizona University has a student population of 31,073, including approximately 23,000 on its main campus in Flagstaff and the remainder at more than 20 locations statewide and online.

Background Information

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check.

Additionally, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States.

Finally, each year the Northern Arizona University Police Department releases an annual security report. The report is a result of the federal law known as the Clery Act and contains policy statements that address the school’s policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security including policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual offenses. The report contains three years of data for Clery reportable crime statistics for the campus along with the most current year’s Fire Safety Report, which includes policy statements and fire statistics for Flagstaff on-campus student housing.

This is a Faculty (FAC) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) or the Optional Retirement Program (ORP); sick leave accruals and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and qualified family members. Faculty are hired on a contract basis, renewable according to terms of the Conditions of Faculty Service. Employees offered a position will be eligible for state health plans (including NAU's BCBS Plan). Employees will have 31 days from date of hire to enroll in benefits, and their benefits will then be effective the first day of the pay period following their completed enrollment.

If a new employee chooses the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) retirement option, participation in the ASRS Plan (and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it) will begin on the first of the pay period following 183 days of employment. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP; an alternative to the ASRS plan) will begin to participate on the first day of employment. The long-term disability plan that accompanies the ORP will begin on the first day of the pay period following 90 days of employment.
