About the UnitThe Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE), is situated within the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago Medicine. CCHE aims to eliminate all new HIV transmission events by 2041. The University of Chicago's position on the South Side makes it uniquely situated to test, treat, and prevent new HIV infections in a highly affected population. The South Side communities and majority Black suburbs connected to them to the South represents the largest contiguous Black population in the United States. By using our integrated HIV transmission elimination approaches, we are beginning to make new infections in these communities less frequent.

Directs engineering and technical support activities to develop and maintain tools and computational methods needed to gather and analyze data.

Performs a variety of duties involved in the collection, documentation, analysis and reporting of clinical research and clinical trial data. Manages the strategic, administrative, operational, and financial decisions that impact clinical research and clinical trials conducted across the University.

Role ImpactIndividual Contributor

ResponsibilitiesThe job provides technical support activities related to documents, analyzes, and reports on clinical research data. Provides input to support the strategic, administrative, operational, and financial decisions that impact clinical research conducted across the University.

1) Perform specific protocol procedures such as interviewing subjects, taking vital signs, and performing electrocardiograms., 2) Understands protocols and advises treating physicians on appropriate dosage modifications or treatment calculations based on patient characteristics., 3) Prepares for or participate in quality assurance audits conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated review groups., 4) Participates in study-related documentation, such as protocol worksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutional review board documents, or progress reports., 5) Performs other related work as needed.

Unit-specific Responsibilities

1) The Data and Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing data entry within the Center.

2) They will be responsible for developing and implementing regular data quality checks.

3) The staff member will be responsible for providing data for reporting, program monitoring, and abstract and manuscript submission.

4) There may be opportunities for developing independent research projects and programs.

5) The candidate will assist with the development of abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts, and other research outcomes.

6) Assist with day to day operations of CDC and CDPH funded projects that involve working with LGBTQ populations vulnerable to HIV, and will coordinate multiple related projects to ensure optimal recruitment, enrollment and fidelity to the complex requirements of program reporting and follow-up counseling.

7) This will include assistance with the development of study protocols and databases, maintenance of databases, and development of Q/A reports.

11) Work in community-based settings and program office.

12) Ability to sit for up to 2 hours.

13) Ability to use computers extensively for 4 hours or more.

14) Ability to stand for 4 hours or more.

15) Ability to bend, crouch, or stoop.

Education, Experience, and CertificationsMinimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
