DescriptionThe Assistant Director is responsible for the coordination of student engagement, placement activities, career events, competitions, and events managed by the Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT). This also includes coordinating student meetings and events with IBIT member firms, as well as scheduling and coordinating IBIT activities such as the career fair, IT awards, analytics challenge, symposiums, executive-in-residence, student mentoring program, and board meetings under the direction of the Director and Executive Director. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years of directly related experience involving engaging students and/or corporations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:* Demonstrated advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn and utilize web management software. * Demonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with varying timelines and priorities. * Knowledge of planning, production and management of large, small, high profile, and less-formal events for diverse and distinguished guests.* Ability to use independent judgement to identify and analyze complex problems and select an appropriate course of action that typically involves change or innovation * Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work as a team player across multiple levels. * Strong customer service skills and ability to understand and assess needs * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and external constituents.* Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred:* Experience in working with industry and faculty and students on projects.* Experience in data management including the ability to research and update contacts and firms* Experience with IT related educational programs.* Ability to maintain web pages using Wordpress.
