The College of Arts & Media is currently seeking applications for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Digital Content Coordinator (Communications Professional-Int).

College of Arts & Media
As the first college in Colorado devoted exclusively to arts and entertainment, the College of Arts & Media understands the influence of modern trends on traditional art forms.  We combine the latest technology with traditional methods, and we encourage our students to incorporate their discoveries of art's emerging dimensions with our comprehensive instruction on its classical forms. The college has three distinct departments, Music & Entertainment Industries Studies (MEIS), Film & Television FITV) and Visual Arts (VA). The MEIS Department primarily focuses on commercial music styles. Students are given the option to choose from four distinct emphasis areas of study: Performance, Singer/ Songwriter, Music Business, and Recording Arts. The Department of FITV offers students the opportunity to become knowledgeable about working in both Theatre and Film while delving into their special area of interest. The Department of VA offers degree emphasis areas in Visual Arts include Art History, Digital Animation, Digital Design, Painting and Drawing, Illustration, Photography, Studio Arts, and Transmedia-Sculpture.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. 
At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.
Position Emphasis/Nature of Work: 
The College of Arts & Media (CAM) Digital Content Coordinator plays an active role in assisting the marketing and communications team in the development, creation and management of digital media content for web, social media and other digital media outlets. This position will also contribute to written and media content found on official CAM channels. This is a two-year position with the possibility of extension contingent on the needs and budgetary position of the College of Arts & Media. 
Specific Duties: 
  • Updates the College of Arts & Media website 
  • Web content creation of CAM news and announcements under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications
  • Assists with and coordinates an annual website content plan
  •  Generates and updates content for digital and online channels, including web news stories, social media (in conjunction with the Manager of Outreach and Engagement) and digital displays in accordance with editorial calendars and college priorities
  • Works with internal partners throughout the college to develop digital content for meetings through methods of information sharing and digital presentations 
  • Works with content providers to produce creative, engaging and shareable content
  • Understand CAM social media environment and how to most effectively use the channels to achieve organizational goals
  • Create digital media assets such as video and graphic design to support social media communications
  • Use analytical tools to advise social media planning and goals 
  • Organize and maintain CAM’s digital media content library
  • Assist with website and online analytics review 
  • Attend CAM events to capture and create digital content to be distributed on CAM channels (may require after hours work)
  • All other duties and tasks as assigned

Salary and Benefits:Hiring range has been set at $47,000-$55,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: 
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital design, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. 
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.  Any experience counted toward the substitution, cannot also count towards the specific years of required experience.
  • 1-year of professional work experience is digital design and digital content creation.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience writing and posting to social media channels with a focus on measured engagement 
  • Experience with content management systems 
  • Proficient in Photoshop
