Campus Location Boston Campus Working Title Assistant Director, Undergraduate Admission Description

Reporting to the Associate Director, Visitor Experience, the Assistant Director will assist the Office of Undergraduate Admission with its efforts to successfully recruit, select, and enroll an academically talented and diverse student body that meets institutional target goals. To help the team achieve these goals, the selected candidate will advise and counsel prospective students, school counselors and other constituencies regarding the admission process and academic programs. The Assistant Director will provide daily oversight, manage and train the undergraduate admission call center and student employees, act as counselor of the day for Saturday visits and work on various customer service projects, related to the needs of the office.
Additionally, the candidate will review applications for undergraduate admission, as needed, based on application volume and office requirements.

The established schedule for this position will be Tuesday – Saturday.

Primary Duties, Responsibilites, and Tasks Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and counseling skills
- Excellent public speaking ability and willingness to present to both large and small groups.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, to a diverse array of audiences
- Willingness to learn and use technology for presentations, email communication, application review, and other job-related duties
- Experience using Windows and/or Apple operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

Previous experience managing students

2-3 years of work experience in a college or university admission office

Experience with Slate product or similar CRM software

Experience recruiting students from diverse backgrounds

Experience reviewing and assessing decisions on applications

Experience overseeing student workers

Individual Work Activities

Customer service management:

To work Tuesday-Saturday, ensuring that all aspects of undergraduate admission customer service activities are streamlined, establish Standard Operating Procedures and ensure that all training for call center student workers is cohesive, consistent and all-encompassing throughout the year.

General Counselor Responsibilities:

Advise and counsel prospective students, school counselors, and other constituencies regarding the admission process and academic programs. The incumbent will be required to attend all campus-based recruitment events and serve as “Counselor of the Day” on all established Saturdays visit days (assist with phone calls and/or conduct on-campus information sessions on assigned days).
