Responsibilities include recruiting, directing, and administering the instrumental area of the music program at NCTC. Of highest priority is the recruitment and direction of a stage band to perform at NCTC functions and various community events and area schools.
This position carries with it the obligation to uphold the Mission of North Central Texas College in carrying out the duties of the position while embracing positive interpersonal behaviors, professional communication, diversity, integrity, leadership, stewardship, respect and accountability to our students and employees.
It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of course and program objectives and to contribute to the overall educational environment of the college and community development as well as other service support that is needed in the fulfillment of the North Central Texas College’s Mission.

Subject to criminal background check. 9 month contract. Salary to commensurate with education and experience. Regular office hours are Monday through Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-noon. Summer office hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm and off on Fridays. This position will require some work in the evenings and weekends for concerts

Required Education

Master’s Degree in Music or Music Education

Required Skills & Abilities

Ability to recruit and work with students;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be flexible, creative, and willing to work collaboratively in a changing environment.

Preferred Skills & Abilities Required Experience

Previous college teaching experience required.

Preferred Experience

Community college teaching experience and building and directing a successful performing group preferred.
