Job Summary:

Job Functions:

Coordinates course activities, including clinical, classroom , and online. Coordinates evaluation and record keeping of student academic and clinical performance. Collaborates with team members to improve classroom/clinical instruction, student advisement, and effective team function

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Perform the job responsibilities of the team member (see team member job description).
  2. Collaborate with team to plan and coordinate student learning activities and team member schedules.Support university and department philosophy, goals and policies and facilitate interpretations to team members and students.Establish and maintain a collegial relationship with team members and a relationship with students that is conducive to learning. Facilitate professional collaboration among team members to establish goals and priorities.Schedule and chair regular team meetings. Facilitate open communication among teams and with administration. Serve on the Leadership Council and Advisory Committee.

    Establish and maintain communication with clinical agencies utilized by team members and students.Provide input for annual evaluation of each team member as requested. Share teaching and clinical responsibilities with team members.Orient and mentor new full-time and part-time team members.Participate with team members in student evaluation and contracts. Facilitate collaboration within and between teaching teams to evaluate and revise course content. Maintain course related student records. Provide oversight of team members’ office hours. Provide administrative support and supervise adjunct faculty. Coordinate requests for clinical slots with team members and inform Department Head of approvals and rejections.Collaborate with Department Head regarding strategic planning for the Nurse Science Dept. Coordinate development of Internet course site. Arrange for coverage for clinicals when absences occur within the department. Other duties as assigned by the Department Head. Completes all mandatory training and participated in a minimum of two professional development each year.Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Education:

Masters Degree with a major in Nursing

Work Experience:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience,preferably in an Associate Degree program.
  • Have aminimum of two (2) years’ experience as competent practitioner of nursing.
  • Have demonstratedleadership abilities and computer literacy evidenced by past work.
  • Hold an unencumberedlicense to practice as registered nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Active membership and participation in nursingand other professional organizations

Certifications &/or Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma drivers' license
  • Hold an unencumbered license to practice as registered nurse in the State of Oklahoma
  • Hold an active membership and participation in nursing and other professional organizations
