This position is responsible for processing all third-party and scholarship accounts.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Analyzes, receives, reviews, reconciles and maintains third-party contracts.

• Processes third-party invoices and payments.

• Assigns students to third-party contracts.

• Issues bookstore vouchers related to third-party contracts.

• Processes and mail invoices and correspondence letters to third-parties and scholarship agencies.

• Analyzes third party accounts for refunds to Third Party Accounts, abiding by federal guidelines.

• Coordinates with the Financial Aid Office regarding additional financial aid resource funds, abiding by federal guidelines.

• Works with third party representatives and scholarships coordinators.

• Prepares end-of-day journal.

• Responds to inquiries regarding attendance, refunds, holds, registration, tuition rates, withdrawal dates, payment deadlines, waivers, scholarships, and third party payments, etc.

• Coordinates daily bank deposit.

• Coordinates hiring process for the office.

• Supervises, records, disciplines, evaluates, and approves assigned personnel.

• Performs cashier duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

• Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of University policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of third-party agencies and contract procedures

• Skill in decision making and problem solving.

• Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

• Skill in oral and written communication

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:

None

GUIDELINES:

Guidelines include Board of Regents policies and procedures, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act regulations, third-party contract guidelines and University policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK:

• The work consists of related accounting duties. Strict regulations contribute to the complexity of the position.

• The purpose of this position is to process third-party accounts. Success in this position contributes to the efficient and effective delivery of funding to eligible students.

CONTACTS:

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other University employees, and representatives of third-party organizations. Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, or to resolve problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.

• The work is typically performed in an office.

SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:

None

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• One to two years of related experience required.

• Associates degree in a course of study related to the occupational field is preferred.

• Work experience in a college or university environment is preferred.

• An offer of employment will be subject to the candidate ability to pass a background and credit check as defined in USG policy.

COMPENSATION CLASSIFFICATION:

• Position is non-exempt (bi-weekly paid).

• Salary grade 14.
