SUMMARY: The Director of Graduate Nursing will manage Montclair State University’s MSN Program and play a key role in the development of other graduate programs. The Director will have a concurrent faculty appointment (rank commensurate with experience). Specific duties will include classroom instruction, class scheduling, collaborating with the Office of Graduate Admissions, student advising, day-to-day program operations, assisting students toward successful program completion, and staffing the classroom with instructors who support the mission of the University. The Director will promote the Nursing School and its programs and engage in fundraising activities and marketing initiatives in collaboration with University Advancement.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include:
• Provide leadership, management and oversight for the MSN program to assure quality and integrity of the academic program, curriculum, services, and operations.
• Implement and administer the daily operation and policies for the MSN program.
• Oversee in collaboration with the Office of Graduate Admissions student recruitment
• Monitor and maximize student progression, retention and graduation through the MSN program.
• Recruit, train, develop, manage, and lead nursing faculty as needed and directed by the Dean and/or Provost.
• Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing faculty teaching in the MSN program.
• Teach up to 12 credits annually in the Nursing program.
• Develop graduate nursing programs in collaboration with faculty and consultants (if needed).
• Work collaboratively with University Advancement on graduate nursing marketing initiatives.
• Participate in fundraising events/activities as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:
• A doctorate in nursing.
• Academic leadership and teaching experience in a college/university setting.
• Experience advising undergraduate nursing students.
• Ability to read, understand, interpret and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with instructional staff, academic and campus leaders, and corporate leaders
PREFERRED:
• Experience building new graduate programs is preferred.
