High School diploma or equivalent. Must either hold or be eligible to immediately obtain a commercial driver license with an air brake endorsement. Must have experience with maintaining and operating commercial buses or related equipment. Standard office machines; moderate computer skills.

Preferred Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for maintenance of the fleet of university buses. Drive buses as needed to transport athletics teams or other university groups that reserve the buses; Perform maintenance as needed on all buses including arranging for warranty work as appropriate; Maintain maintenance records for all buses; Assure that fleet buses are maintained, cleaned, and ready for use at all times; Assure that all policies regarding use of the buses are followed; Coordinate with the roadside assistance vendor on all bus trips; Follow all safety regulations and policies. Other duties as assigned.
Responsible for personal safety and safety of others. Must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits; must actively participate in safety training program.

After hours and weekend “on call” availability required.

Position is Security Sensitive

Other Information

Hours may vary to include weekends and evenings.

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
