SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Housing Systems  is responsible for providing customer service and coordinating  the day to day needs pertaining to all systems used to facilitate the operations of Residential Living and Learning, as well as, focuses on customer service and behind the scenes table generation and maintenance of the StarRez Housing Management System.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (15 or less):

  • Establishes working procedures for all aspects of the department in relation to computer entries and the system of placing and assessing changes to student accounts.
  • Serves as liaison with Technology Services, Student Account, Financial Aid/Scholarships, and Registrar’s Office.
  • Coordinates the development of various departmental reports with CTIS.
  • Coordinates the development of various departmental reports for housing systems, audits, and historical data.
  • Monitors communications between all Housing and University Systems including Banner, Blackboard, Touchnet.
  • Supervises the input of complete and accurate files on each resident in the residence halls into the Fortis Paperless System.
  • Coordinates and completes housing setup within StarRez such as building rate tables, building/floor tables, room attributes, and roommate tables.
  • Supervises the collection of student payments, posting to the appropriate accounts, and forwards payment and supporting documentation to Fiscal Office.
  • Facilitates the maintenance and continual updates of all systems including the purchase and creation of new modules or programs within StarRez.
  • Assists the Associate Director of Halls Operations with the input and update of offline rooms, inventories, and inspections.
  • Works with Assistant Director of Occupancy Management to facilitate housing operations.
  • Assists in developing, updating, and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a representative of the Department of Residence Life on various University committees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (ex: high school diploma and four(4) years of related experience).  
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Three (3) years of related experience in a university setting. Strong interpersonal skills. Good working knowledge of professional communications, spelling, punctuation, and office procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to organize and set priorities, maintain records, interpret and prepare reports, compose memoranda and letters. Discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

Degree preferred. Advanced working knowledge of Banner and Housing Module. Experience in University housing or privatized housing system.
