Job Summary

Tutor students within the Learning Support Department.

**This position will be open until filled.

Qualifications

Tutor I - $13.08/hr

Earned 30 credit hours and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the subject area to be tutored



Tutor II - $13.86/hr

Associates Degree and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the subject area to be tutored



Tutor III - $16.51/hr

Bachelors Degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA in the subject area to be tutored



Tutor IV - $18.55/hr

Masters Degree with expertise in the area to be tutored

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  1. Knowledge of the discipline/disciplines
  2. Knowledge of computer software application.
  3. Knowledge of the internet as a tool.
  4. Knowledge and ability to identify and communicate learning goals and objectives with students in the area assigned.
  5. Skills to learn fast and to help others to build effective and efficient learning strategy.
  6. Skill in effectively communicating both orally and in writing.
  7. Interpersonal skills to engage students in active learning.
  8. Skill in providing customer service to students, staff and the public.
  9. Skill in basic record keeping and report preparations.
  10. Skills to adapt to learn needs.
  11. Skills to identify the needs of the tutoring team and to work interchangeably with tutors in the Learning Support Department.
