 Position Summary:


The Specialist IV, Assessment Center supports other staff by performing task oriented duties whileproviding clerical, analytical, administrative and operational support under general supervision.Responsible for maintaining the equipment and tools needed for assessing the skills and abilities ofstudents. Maintains test scores and records for faculty and administration. Serves as backup tosupervisor.

 Job Functions: 
  1. Administer exams and monitor students throughout the duration of the exams 
  2. Maintain tests in a secure environment 
  3. Make sound, ethical judgments in regards to exam security. Solve testing problems withcomputers, students, and teachers 
  4. Assist with hiring and supervising and training part time staff. Create schedule for part timeproctors. Act as point of contact with local high schools 
  5. Perform customer service functions, including welcoming students, providing testinginstructions/ to students, and assisting students and faculty in person, by e-mail, and by phone 
  6. Receive and log incoming tests from instructors 
  7. Return testing documents to instructors 
  8. Perform administrative support tasks as needed, including maintaining files, recording statistics,and entering scores in a database 
  9. Troubleshoot test errors and equipment failure 
  10. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

Work Schedule & Conditions: 

  • PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone andother general office equipment
  • Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Physical Abilities:

  • The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may besome walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
