The Department of Radiology at Augusta University, AU, Georgia’s premier Health Sciences University, is recruiting for a full-time Nuclear Medicine Physician. The candidate should be board certified in Nuclear Medicine and prefer the individual to be fellowship trained in Nuclear Medicine. Responsibilities will include a combination of patient care and teaching of medical students and residents. Position offers a strong salary line and excellent fringe benefits package. Academic rank is commensurate with training and experience.

The department is equipped with two SPECT/CT gamma cameras, two SPECT gamma cameras (one cardiac-dedicated), cardiac treadmill stress, thyroid uptake probe, time-of flight PET/CT camera, three CT Scanners (256 and 128), three MRI scanners (Two 3 Tesla and one 1.5 Tesla), Ultrasound, two tomosynthesis digital mammography units, two angiography suites (interventional and neurointerventional) with CT-biopsy; and includes the Center for Molecular Chaperone/Radiobiology & Cancer Virology.

AU contains the Medical College of Georgia; Georgia’s only Dental College; encompassing undergraduate and graduate Masters and Doctoral Programs; the regions only Level One Trauma Center; is certified by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers as a Level IV (highest designation given) Comprehensive Epilepsy Center; is a Joint Commission Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center, the first in Georgia and the second in the Southeast; and includes the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, designated in 2015 by the University Hospital Consortium as #1 in the nation in quality and safety. AU ranks in the top ten public medical schools in basic science grant revenue per faculty member.
