Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Academic Program Director (CE), the Student Affairs Officer II manages the coordination and administration of certificate and sequential programs offering multiple specialization fields of study in the Business, Management and Legal Programs Department at UCLA Extension. Counsel 1000+ incoming, current and future students on the appropriate certificate program based on their academic backgrounds and career objectives. Conduct program orientations and ongoing student counseling sessions quarterly, and represent program units at educational fairs, International Student Orientation, and other relevant events. Plan, coordinate, and implement Program Career Fair events (for UCLA Extension students) which bring employers and certificate program candidates and graduates together. Coordinate efforts for Annual Graduation event that includes verifying accurate list of graduates and communicating event specifics to certificate graduates. Manage the administration and implementation of unit's internship program. Collaborate with program reps to ensure appropriate sequencing and scheduling of courses.

This position involves the shared supervision of one full-time Program Assistant and the coordination and management of their day-to-day activities. Maintain contact with external accreditation agencies or bodies, and under the direction and guidance of the CE, use a professional level of expertise and judgment in interpreting and implementing external requirements and regulations as they affect student matriculation in programs. Work closely with Department's marketing manager to oversee the production and publication of certificate brochures, flyers, website updates, and other support materials. Also coordinate with marketing manager outreach and surveys to currently enrolled and graduated certificate students.
