- Provides information to students and parents who are interested in financial aid programs. Verifies accuracy/corrects student financial aid grant, scholarship, work program or loan program application and files. Triages issues to higher level specialists/advisors/managers as needed
- Assists students and parents with the entire application and disbursement process for all federal, state and institutional aid programs utilizing electronic processes developed by the Department of Education
- Identifies and clarifies conflicting database matches from the particular agency/organization
- Resolves database mismatches including communicating with responsible agency and student
- Assists in the Federal Student Loan Entrance and Exit Counseling Sessions or Orientations
- Assists in preparation Federal, State, Institutional and Private reports to donor or agencies
- Provides accurate information regarding guidelines of major aid programs offered by Lone Star College and private donor scholarships
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

- Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading
- PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
- Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
QualificationsRequired:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 2 years of related work experience; an associate’s degree or higher may be substituted for years of experience
- Financial Aid work experience in a higher education setting
