Job Functions:

1. Monitors labs and provides assistance to students including helping them log in, troubleshooting software issues, hardware issues etc; escalates problems that cannot be resolved to campus IT.
2. Provides instructions to students for exercises and competency quizzes.
3. Helps students by providing brief explanations of basic concepts-subjects, verbs, sentence patterns, transition, essay structure (main idea, supporting details, five-paragraph format), and document formatting (Word). 
4. Refers students to tutor if more than a "one minute" definition of a term or clarification of instructions is needed.
5. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Demonstrate expertise in the following:

• Computer hardware.
• Software literacy and problem-solving (specifically Word, My Spanish Lab, My French Lab, Gramatica Viva).
• Second language learning issues.
• Clerical procedures for record-keeping.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Abilities:

• Minimal physical effort is required

Salary:

$14.42 per hour (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week).
Work Schedule & Conditions:

• Work hours vary; some weekend work required.
