Position Summary:


Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing customer service to students, faculty, andthe community. Duties take place in a joint academic/public library with electronic resources that operateshighly on teamwork. Interprets and enforces library policies for all users; handles library activities that includecirculation, reference, and organization of resource materials; updates patron records using Symphony librarydatabase. Positive attitude and good customer service skills are essential.
Job Functions:

  1. Performs circulation duties.
  2. Provides computer lab assistance to patrons including course registration, instruction, and troubleshooting.
  3. Maintains/replenishes office supplies and inventory, and other related duties.
  4. Provides assistance to college students, staff, and general public.
  5. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


Ability to maintain confidentiality

Strong computer skills, including MS Office programs

Excellent customer service skills and communication


Salary:

$10.82/hour

Work Schedule & Conditions:

  • Work hours will be set, but may vary and include days, evenings, and Saturdays.  Flexibility is essential.
  • PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
  • Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.



QualificationsRequired:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 1 year related work experience


Preferred:
  • Two years of college
  • Library experience
  • Experience using Symphony
