  LSC-Creekside Center is a state-of-the-art, full-service satellite center designed to serve the western portion of the Woodlands, as well as Tomball and the surrounding communities. Its location in an area of rapid growth provides an ideal opportunity for both working and non-traditional students. The facility offers a selection of day, evening and weekend credit courses, including university-transfer courses and certificates.

  Position Summary:   

The PT Manager, Summer Merit Program manages the set-up and day-to-day operations of the Summer Merit Program.    Job Functions: 
  1. Plans courses, plans curriculum and manages youth programs using the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) model. Summer Merit Program will also include courses in art, fitness and nutrition and geography
  2. Keeps informed of and evaluates major trends in youth programs
  3. Maintains and implements activities consistent with the college and system strategic plans
  4. Uses appropriate data and information to evaluate effectiveness of programs and makes recommendations for improvement
  5. Provides reports and budget analysis as requested
  6. Responsible for ongoing activities critical to the program such as student recruitment
  7. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
  8. Coordinates and work together with HS staff, provides Instructional supervision for summer camp staff, interact daily with students and parents if needed
  9. Provide needed support to instructors and students during the summer camp
  10. Supervise that all security measurements are in place, supervise that field trips are conducted following security measurements 
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 
  • Ability to solve problems and prioritize own work
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and maintain confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills and above average written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience working in a youth program
  • Knowledge of and ability to use PC and common office software 
Physical Abilities:  

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. 

  Salary:
$22.26/per hour

  Work Schedule & Conditions: 

  • Normal working hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • This is a temporary, part-time grant funded position only

QualificationsRequired: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The candidate must have at least three years’ experience in education (Teaching, counseling, advising), experience working with students 5 to 12 graders and a diverse student population, demonstrate leadership experience, staff selection and manager experience. Preference will be given to a candidate that has experience in working with foster youth and/or students with disabilities or minorities. Ability to work part-time from February to May and full time in June 2019
