The incumbent will assists with the development, support, maintenance, security and management of the full project life cycle of complex web-based and rich-client-based, database driven applications with campus-wide scope. Many projects include the analysis of complex business processes and must be implemented as sophisticated workflow applications. Tasks include documenting and participating in project design and implementation from initial stages to production release.
Candidate must be able to communicate clearly with users, analyze and document user requirements, collect security requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, document workflow, diagram data flows and business rules. Must code, test, debug and maintain enterprise applications in various OSes (Unix-like/Windows) with various DBs (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB) and with various application technologies. Appropriately use ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow) to track work and version control (git, GitHub) to track changes.
UC Irvine's Office of Information Technology is looking for application developers who are passionate about developing and running enterprise web-based systems and services and know the ins and outs of complex high availability systems. You will be working with other driven members of OIT teams to develop UC Irvine's enterprise systems for students, faculty and staff.

Total Hours: 8-5, M-F

Contract Position. This is a one year contract appointment position with the possibility of additional year contract appointment extensions. Per the University of California (UC) recruitment policy, because this position has undergone competitive recruitment, this position can be converted to career status any time after hire, as conversion meets criteria set by UC recruitment policy and the needs of the Office of Information Technology department.
