Starting Pay Rate:  Per Adjunct Faculty Pay Scale

Schedule Information: Evenings beginning at 6pm and/or days depending upon course schedule.

The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application can remain "Under Review by Committee" for 18 months. You may check your status at any time by logging into with your username and password. 

Job Description: The instructor will teach classes in American Sign Language (Levels I to V) and Deaf Culture. The Dept. of World Languages offers fall, spring and summer courses. Courses are offered during the day and evening.

Successful candidates teach in an interactive and engaging way.

Education Requirements: Master’s degree in discipline or related areas (Master’s in Linguistics, Sign Language Studies, Sign Language Education, Interpreter Education, Deaf Education); ASLTA (American Sign Language Teachers Association) certification or ASLPI (ASL Proficiency Interview) Level 4.

Experience Requirements:  Successful college-level teaching experience in American Sign Language; ASL fluency and cultural knowledge.
