Job Summary
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses that may include elementary methods, music for K-6 classroom teachers, supervising student teaching and other field work; mentoring and advising graduate research; help with curriculum development and serve in university shared governance; work with applied teachers, ensemble directors, and admissions in recruitment and retention efforts. The candidate’s performance must result in high-quality student-teacher preparation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary music education
  2. Supervise student teachers
  3. Mentor and advise graduate research
  4. Help with curriculum development and serve in university shared governance
  5. Work with applied teachers, ensemble directors, and admissions in recruitment and retention efforts.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications MME Music Education and minimum three years of successful K-6 music teaching experience; documented research activity.Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. or D.M.A. in Music Education. Experience with on-line instructional delivery.

Record of leadership in areas of recruitment, community partnerships, and curriculum development; dedication to student preparation; college teaching
