Director of Digital Marketing

Office of Marketing & Communications

 

Reporting to the Vice President for Marketing & Communications, the Director of Digital Marketing will play an important role in the University of Bridgeport’s integrated marketing efforts. Key responsibilities include digital marketing strategy development, branding, and content creation. This newly created position will be integral to the Office of Marketing & Communications, which provides centralized services to the three distinct colleges of the University.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops strategy for search, paid media, social, mobile, and more in conjunction with supervisor and others
  • Collaborates with units and departments across campus, including admissions and advancement in support of strategic goals
  • Possesses expertise in campaign set up, including campaign creative, campaign goals, content calendars, and reporting
  • Manages an editorial calendar and posting schedule in conjunction with others
  • Creates compelling content to support marketing strategy on multiple platforms
  • Assists in developing, coordinating, and executing digital advertising campaigns in support of University goals

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, multimedia, journalism, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in digital marketing
  • Experience in multi-channel advertising

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of best digital marketing practices and an ability to monitor the efficacy of emerging trends on digital media and social media platforms
  • Knowledgeable in Google AdWords, Hootsuite or Sprout Social, and best practices in online marketing
  • Strong copy and visual storytelling abilities along with high-level analytical skills
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact well with campus constituents, as well as the public community
  • Competency in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in market segmentation, key messaging, and benchmarking
  • Experience in higher education marketing and/or prior agency experience in digital marketing, branding, multimedia, inbound marketing, or social media a plus
  • Prior experience developing or assisting in the development of branding guidelines
  • Budget experience helpful
