General Summary of Position:

The Program Development Manager is responsible for the development, revision, and continuous improvement of academic, non-credit and international programs offerings. Working collaboratively with Deans and faculty in assigned colleges, the Manager will develop new programs and redesign existing programs to align strategically with the University’s graduate program enrollment goals. The Manager will manage the full life cycle of program development efforts including ideation, market research, program design, sales and marketing efforts leading to successful launch of programs.

1. Collaboratively work with faculty on the design and development of high-quality academic programs with clear student learning outcomes aligned with program and institutional goals.

  • Support entrepreneurial proposals generated among faculty/staff and identified by school leadership as potential areas of growth
  • Research and develop existing ideas through design of curriculum and choice of delivery models
  • Examine existing program areas for enhancement and growth
  • Monitor external factors and trends to inform the structure of programs and enrollment projections

2. Support faculty and Deans in new program proposal development and redesign of existing programs to facilitate proposal evaluation at various levels both internally and externally prior to launch of the programs:

  • Facilitate discussions on course credits, program design, structure and sequencing as well as application requirements for programs to maximize program success
  • Enable the identification of resource requirements to implement and maintain program for the first five years including human, physical and instructional; draft budgets to be consistent with program proposal
  • Research and integrate employment and educational advancement opportunities for graduates of the proposed program

3. Lead the development and implementation of a roll-out sequence for successful program delivery on-campus, offsite locations and on-line.

  • Identification of prospective target markets to promote programs to domestic, corporate and international students and cohort-based recruitment partners
  • Work in conjunction with the communications and marketing team on the preparation and design of promotional materials; coordination of digital marketing efforts, including search engine marketing and online advertisements; participation in recruitment fairs
  • Work with faculty development/ academic technology team to develop a sequence of faculty training, course development and launch for online or web-enhanced courses
  • Participate in appropriate committees, consortiums and related networking opportunities on behalf of the university

4. Identification of prospective corporate and international partners for promotion of academic and non-credit programs in a cohort-based model

  • Implement and manage a comprehensive development plan for expanding or enhancing corporate educational programs and international partnerships
  • Identify new market/business opportunities for current and new programs through researching emerging industry trends with an emphasis on high value corporate educational and training needs
  • Develop training packages in discussion with corporate/ international partners, manage contracts and agreements, prepare sales and program projections as well as pricing structures for varying modes of delivery

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in higher education
  • Experience working with diverse populations required
  • Strong presentation, process management, detail orientation, organizational skills, analysis, data interpretation, interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand the big picture required
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
  • Strong customer service, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with various academic departments
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management in a corporate and academic setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record

Additional Considerations:

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration preferred
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM desired
  • A successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who actively contributes in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated skills in assisting with the development of marketing materials and using social media desirable
