This is a full-time, benefits eligible, at will position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but may vary based on operational needs.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities Services, the Associate Director of Administration, provides oversight, leadership and strategic direction for Facilities Services customer and business services including but not limited to: customer service, budget, human resources, planning, process improvement, procurement, work management, data/technology utilization and communications. The Associate Director will be a member of the Facilities Services Senior Management Team and works closely with various managers and other constituents across campus and must at all times act with impartiality and equity. A key focus of this position is maintaining a healthy culture of teamwork, transparency, and accountability.

This position is assigned a wide range of operational responsibilities overseeing departmental fiscal matters including but not limited to planning, analysis, forecasting and management of all department resources. Primary areas of responsibility include fiscal management of all revenue sources, i.e., university operating (General) fund exceeding $12M, revenue and trust funds, enterprise funds, and cost recovery funding.

The Associate Director will serve as the primary department human resource contact, providing expertise and guidance with regard to payroll, travel relocation, new hire orientation, on-boarding, on-going employee functional training to ensure the staff is prepared to perform at the highest level utilizing the systems, policies, and procedures specific to SDSU's Facilities Services department as well as CSU, SDSU, BFA and other regulatory agencies.

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $10,833.34 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,736 - $13,150 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in relevant field or combination of education and experience.Five years of experience in areas of talent management, employee relations, or human resources, customer service and business operations, ideally within higher education.
