This position is funded in whole or in part by grant funds and may end when funding is no longer available or through FY2021. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance, compliance with University and Board policies and procedures and the continued availability of funds.

This position will provide instructional design support for eCore and eMajor, University System of Georgia Collaborative Programs. Primary duties and responsibilities are: providing course revision and development support for eMajor faculty, overseeing the course quality in university system-wide collaborative online programs (eCore & eMajor), including making regular course updates, checking and maintaining links, developing new materials; and serving as an eCore GoVIEW administrator. Identifies instructional design needs, and helps to ensure institutional effectiveness promoting quality assurance in online courses, SACS and BOR accreditation guidelines, quality pedagogical and instructional methods, copyright, and ADA requirements; serves as an institutional administrator of the online course management system known as GeorgiaVIEW. Will design and implement media enhancement for eCore and eMajor courses; trace and report all costs related to the development and revision of courses, reporting those costs to the budget manager; actively research trends in instructional technology and make recommendations for use; other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience in instructional design or support of online students and faculty. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of both current practices and emerging trends in the field of instructional technology and distance learning. Broad-based knowledge and skill in operating a variety of software applications used in multimedia, courseware development, and distributed learning products. Willingness to multi-task and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work evenings/weekends as needed and occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and two years of experience working with Course Management Systems and related distance ed technologies preferred.

Salary $45,540 (minimum) - $58,632 (midpoint) Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Position requires local travel and ability to lift and carry files and materials up to 25 lbs. Must be able to work evenings/weekends as needed and occasional travel.
