This position has responsibility for the accurate reflection of revenue and accounts receivable in the general ledger for approximately $50M. Leads a staff of four or more and indirect supervision of fifteen or more student account professionals. Analyze, plan and direct financial activities for institutional accounts receivable; review and prepare accurate financial information between the offices of Accounting and Bursar, as well as, other offices throughout the university. Ensures accurate reconciliation information between student system and financial system is completed. Reviews outstanding accounts receivable and directs additional action for collection. Makes recommendations to the Bursar for collection based upon analysis. Renders exceptional customer service to UWG students, parents, and institutional offices is expected. As part of the management team, this position supports the Bursar in the achievement of departmental goals and other work related activities.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business related field required. Must have three or more years work experience in work related field, along with three or more years supervisory experience for two or more full-time employees. Candidates must be able to express concepts clearly in conversations and interactions whether verbally or in business writing with students, parents, and administration. Must be capable to work with confidential information, analyze data, and make informed decisions. Expected to have knowledge of and the ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles, particularly governmental regulations. Must have the skill to analyze and interpret financial reports and supervise staff. Must be able to work independently and as a team. Must be able to deal with high volumes and be flexible in dealing with changing demands and deadlines. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Attention to detail is essential. Must be capable of handling a variety of individuals and situations in a professional environment with a diplomatic and pleasant disposition.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or relatable field.
