Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the Payroll Operations Manager, primary responsibilities are to provide a wide range of payroll services to the departments under the HR and Payroll Center, North (HRPCN) office. Provide support in the processing of biweekly and monthly payroll and assist clients in meeting submission deadlines. Work in conjunction with departmental payroll representatives, the Central Resource Unit, and UCPath Center to resolve discrepancies. Deliver exemplary customer service while addressing all inquiries made to the HRPCN. Responsible for processing biweekly and monthly payroll transactions, retroactive salary adjustments, etc. as directed.

Incumbent also performs various personnel transactions in conjunction with policy and procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and directive from Campus Human Resources. Maintain accurate and current personnel information of all on-line personnel transactions using PeopleSoft HRMS. Independently set priorities and complete functions, using deadline schedules, manuals, and office procedures as guidelines.

This position also provides support to managers and supervisors with preparing edits in the Kronos database.

Job Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with online payroll processing systems. Required
Working knowledge of payroll and HR online applications. Required
Working knowledge of the computerized time and attendance systems. Required
Demonstrated ability to analyze policies and procedures and determine compliance of existing policies and procedures. Required
Must have strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills. Required
Ability to understand and interpret University policies, labor contracts and the application of these guidelines in the payroll process, where applicable. Required
Skills in basic arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply or divide figures to compute rates. Required
Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including skill in performing accounting tasks such as debiting, crediting, and reconciling expenditures. Required
Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction and supervision, according to established deadlines, working effectively under continual interruptions and heavy workload. Required
Skill in speaking concisely and logically using grammatically correct language to convey information and explain policies and procedures. Required
Proficient knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and business software. Expert knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets. Required
Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct, routine business correspondence and office procedures. Required
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, and management. Required
Ability to set goals and priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities when faced with fluctuating workloads, conflicting deadlines and competing requirements. Required
Ability to maintain equanimity in a high-volume public contact office where dissatisfaction and misunderstandings may arise. Required
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues. Required
Ability to have a highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction. Required
Ability to demonstrate passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers with a pleasant, patient and friendly attitude. Required
Ability to work a flexible schedule, as dictated by operational needs. Required
Ability to work overtime, as required, to meet departmental objectives. Required
Ability to obtain certification as fingerprint roller. Required
Ability to collaborate as part of a team in order to accomplish team goals. Required
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS. Preferred
B.A. or a B.S. degree. Preferred
