Job Summary:
The Senior Associate Athletic Director reports directly to the Director of Athletics at the University of San Francisco. The Senior Associate Athletic Director will be a member of the University of San Francisco Athletic Department and will oversee a broad range of internal programs and activities including but not limited to budget and finance, human resources and all areas related to the overall athletic performance of student athletics including athletic training, strength and conditioning, peak performance training and sports nutrition. Additionally, this position will serve as the sport supervisor for assigned sports.

Full Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage activities of assigned administrative units and sports programs, supporting and enabling all areas in reaching performance goals. Provides guidance to technical/professional staff and students for all administrative support services. Interact with student athletes, coaches, administrative staff, and other Athletic Department stakeholders with respect to academics, logistics, and personal concerns and problems. Monitors program operations to ensure compliance with all NCAA, University and Conference practices and regulations, while contributing to the continual growth and development of the University's intercollegiate training programs. Oversee a sports peak performance training program for all student-athletes. Manage appropriately, in coordination with university officials, student-athlete conduct issues. Directly supervise the day to day operations for assigned sports. Supervise and ensure coordinated efforts of athletic training and strength and conditioning staff and programs to maximize coverage for all sports. Develop and implement department-wide policies and procedures for internal operations to improve efficiency. Deputy Title IX Coordinator

Budget and Finance
Ensure that all Athletic Department units comply with Athletic Department and University fiscal policies and procedures. Develop new or modify existing policies and procedures when needed. Supervise Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations to ensure all department and university goals are met in the area of business and finance and equipment. Assist with the analysis of fiscal problems with reducing expenses and increasing efficiency.


Human Resources
Oversee and work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations on all personnel related issues and activities including but not limited to searching, hiring, orientation, evaluation, and termination of staff and student employees. Assist the Director of Athletics with the departments annual evaluation process.

Athletic Training
Supervise the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training Services and all athletic training services. Oversee the coordination of rehabilitation/injury prevention programs and the strength and conditioning programs to maximize the performance of student-athletes. Collaborate with team physicians and outside providers to improve services for student-athletes.

Strength and Conditioning
Supervise the Assistant Athletic Director of Strength and Conditioning. Oversee the development and administration of a sound strength and conditioning program.

Nutrition
Oversee a sports nutrition program for all student-athletes, including the recruitment and identification of a department nutritionist. Work with Dining Services and nutritionist to implement and oversee “training table” activities for all student-athletes.


Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Must have at least six years of experience in intercollegiate athletics or related field. Minimum of two years of work and increasing responsibilities in areas including: budget, finances or related management experience required. Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and the application of those to all situations. Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills. Ability to supervise and evaluate staff in an athletic department. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once in a fast-pasted environment.
