Postdoctoral Fellow Position

Department of Educational, School and Counseling Psychology

The Missouri Prevention Center (MPC) and the Department of Educational, School & Counseling Psychology (ESCP) in the College of Education at the University of Missouri is pleased to offer a Postdoctoral Fellow position to a quantitative researcher. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with the Missouri Prevention Center on an NSF funded project on developing statistical tools for power analysis of moderator and mediator effects in multilevel randomized experiments and an IES funded project on developing user-friendly software and clear guidelines for using propensity score methods with complex survey data. Main duties will include conducting simulation, helping design the software, maintaining a website for disseminating the tools, and writing papers for publication. In addition, the fellow will be supported to conduct her/his own research, and have substantial opportunities to actively engage in the IES Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Research Training that is hosted by MPC and ESCP.


Minimum Qualifications:

    An earned doctorate in quantitative methods, or in education, psychology, sociology, public policy, or economics with strong quantitative skills.Proficiency with one or more statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, R).Strong written and verbal communications skills.


    Participating in research projects Attending weekly training seminars Co-authoring publicationsDeveloping/enhancing an independent program of research relevant in research methods

Candidates will be evaluated on the following factors:

Appointments: Non-tenure track postdoctoral fellow, 12-month appointment beginning in Fall 2017 or Spring 2018, contingent on the availability of the applicant.
