SCAD seeks an Assistant to the Associate Vice President for Academic Services to provide excellence in administrative support. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the associate vice president’s office, you will coordinate the office of academic services, facilitate academic projects and support university initiatives.

In this role, you will serve as a professional role model to academic administration assistants, faculty, staff and students through a positive, collaborative and solutions-oriented approach, as evidenced through measurable results. Therefore, this leadership-level support position requires advanced project and people management skills through operational and administrative responsibilities, including tasks that require confidentiality, accuracy, punctuality, responsiveness and dexterity. You will work as part of a team and as an individual contributor, showing initiative to stay on and ahead of tasks.

Additionally, you will lead the academic administration assistants on academic services projects and university initiatives, and also collaborate with the academic operations managers in guiding academic departments to success. You will act as the primary manager and point of contact for all alumni and professional mentor arrangements and visits.

You will also collaborate with all units of the university, including working on matters related to accreditation, recruitment, student and alumni success, SCADPro projects, awards and rankings, facilitation of guest lectures, visits and more. The assistant reviews and edits written communications for the associate vice president and extends further support to academic services in the preparations of academic content, especially the SCAD catalog and annual reports, for internal and external use.

Other duties and responsibilities include overseeing faculty development-related projects and events; a broad knowledge of the university’s priorities, policies and procedures, protocols and personnel; and the ability to prepare, gather and relay confidential information and material. Based on these expectations, the assistant must exercise confidentiality, discretion and judgment in providing executive support.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated success working with executive-level personnel, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced organizational habits and skills, project management experience, the ability to multitask and manage deadlines, a commitment to honesty and integrity and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
