The College of Arts, Education and Sciences at Clarion University is seeking to expand the current temporary faculty pool to teach various undergraduate courses for the 2019 – 2020 and 2020 – 2021 academic years. Applicants in previous pools will have to reapply to be considered. All positions are contingent upon the availability of funding.

The Department of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics teaches courses at all of Clarion University’s campuses (Clarion, Venango (Oil City), West Penn Hospital (Pittsburgh), and online). The department hires most of its temporary faculty for both part-time and full-time positions through the temporary pool.

Mathematics courses typically taught by temporary faculty include:
Basic Algebra
Intermediate Algebra
Excursions in Mathematics
Quantitative Reasoning
Mathematical Concepts Grades K-8
Applied Finite Mathematics
Precalculus
Fundamental Topics in K-8 Mathematics
Elementary Applied Statistics
Business Calculus

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in the Mathematical Sciences, Master’s degree in closely related field, or PDE equivalent of a master’s degree and completion of a successful interview.
