College/School College of Science and Health Responsibilities
The Dept. of Health Sciences within the College of Science and Health at DePaul University invites expressions of interest in a part-time teaching opportunity. Applicants interested in teaching laboratory sections of the following integrated anatomy and physiology courses in the department are invited to apply.

HLTH 301 Integrated Anatomy and Physiology A. This course explores the fundamental principles of human anatomy and physiology that specifically relate to the sensation and perception of environmental stimuli, as well as the response to such challenges. Broad consideration will be given to the body's various modes of cellular and tissue communication, with special emphasis on the interplay between the integumentary, skeletomuscular, nervous, and endocrine systems. In addition, the integrated approach will provide a strong foundation for the serial investigation of relevant topics relating to human health and disease, and clinical intervention. The required weekly laboratory component allows students to integrate and apply theory based lecture knowledge to hands-on anatomic and physiologic exercises, as well as provide critical analysis of course learning outcomes.

HLTH 302 Integrated Anatomy and Physiology B. This course explores the fundamental principles of human anatomy and physiology that specifically relate to the dynamic integration of critical organ systems. With the cardiovascular system as a starting point, students will investigate the complex orchestration of homeostatic mechanisms regulated by the respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. As with HLTH 301, the integrated approach will provide a strong foundation for the serial investigation of relevant topics relating to human health and disease, and clinical intervention. The required weekly laboratory component allows students to integrate and apply theory based lecture knowledge to hands-on anatomic and physiologic exercises, as well as provide critical analysis of course learning outcomes.

The laboratory section instructor will be required to:
*communicate effectively with the other instructor for the course;
*assist in grading for all laboratory sections, including lab assessments and lecture exams;
*collaborate in the development of learning assessment tools;
aid in the preparation of consumable supplies for all laboratory sections;
*manage an undergraduate teaching assistant who will staff the lab with the faculty member for support.

In order to best serve the students, part-time faculty are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities of a faculty member that are commensurate and consistent with the faculty member's qualifications and the best interests of DePaul.
