General Summary

The Software/Data Analyst supports the academic colleges, schools, divisions and areas of the institution with technology and information management initiatives. These initiatives will include systems management, data management and reporting with the goal of streamlining and unifying processes. The Analyst will query data and customize data-based reports, develop and maintain web applications, and assist areas with the data access process (granting appropriate permissions to data and reports). The Analyst will also assist with quality assurance testing, project documentation creation and training support to promote the sustainability of implemented solutions. For some projects, collaboration with the other data stewards such as the University Registrar or Institutional Research and Market Analytics will be necessary.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Runs data queries in PeopleSoft and DePaul's data warehouse. Build and maintain custom Tableau reports.
  • Develops and maintains web applications in SharePoint, C# using ASP.NET, Ext.net and SQL Server.
  • Assists in quality assurance testing and creating project documentation.
  • Creates and maintains training materials and provide training for various systems.
  • Assists in the management of data access to PeopleSoft and Tableau.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle with an emphasis on quality and organization.
  • Experience in using Tableau software.
  • Familiarity with an academic environment.


Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree in a technological field or at least four years of demonstrated technological experience, emphasizing database knowledge and web-related application development in C# .NET.


Other Skills & Abilities Reqd

  • Excellent knowledge of T-SQL and relational databases.
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Intermediate knowledge of C# (or similar language) and Visual Studio (or similar IDE).
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office suite, including Access, Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Intermediate skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro.
  • Demonstrated skill in documentation and quality assurance testing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to explain technical terminology and applications to non-technical users.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Experience with Tableau software.


Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for a prolonged period of time in front of a computer.

Location
