Doctoral degree in Occupational Science, Rehabilitation Science or related field.
We seek a full range of candidates, including recent doctorates as well as individuals with professorial experience at any rank for a tenure track position. Publication and teaching records will be evaluated in light of previous experience.
1. Evidence of established scholarship with the potential for contributions of national significance for candidates at the Assistant level.
2. Post-doctoral research experience (preferred).
3. Record of, or potential for, extramural research support.
4. Evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level (preferred).
5. Experience working as an occupational therapist (preferred).
6. Experience working with diverse settings (preferred).
7. Evidence of established scholarship of national significance for candidates at the Associate or Full rank.
National certification and eligibility for Wisconsin Licensure in Occupational Therapy required.Position Summary:
The Department of Kinesiology's Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position. Desirable candidates should be able to (a) provide exemplary graduate student training, and (b) secure extramural funding to support distinguished research in an area of occupational therapy, occupational science and/or related fields, (c) teach in the Occupational Therapy Program, and (d) contribute to the leadership of the Occupational Therapy Program.Additional Information:
University of Wisconsin-Madison OT Program research faculty has received millions of dollars in research grants from the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, private foundations and intramural grants to fund research spanning the breadth and depth of contemporary occupational therapy. Our faculty affiliate with research centers and collaborators across campus and beyond according to their research interests. Current projects include the study of movement, sensory processing and feeding disorders among children; cognitive and mobility impairment affecting occupational performance among the elderly; and functional outcomes among children with disabilities and the well-being of their caregivers. Over the years, our faculty has received top honors for their outstanding work, including the Eleanor Clarke Slagle Lectureship, the A. Jean Ayres Award, the Virginia Scardina Award of Excellence as well as membership in the AOTF Academy of Research.
Our entry-level professional program is one of the oldest and most successful in the United States with a 100% pass rate on the NBCOT for the past 7 years. Our advanced graduate programs (PhD and OTD) are actively preparing the next generation of occupational therapy teachers, leaders and scholars.
