Exempt salaried position. Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week plus evening and weekend activities.

Willing and available to travel approximately three times a semester for alumni meetings, programming, and alumni events.

Basic Function

Partner with Institutional Advancement and the Office of Alumni and Family Engagement to engage with young alumni by region, industry and shared interest groups and to align with Denison’s overall alumni goals and initiatives. Work to ensure the ongoing leadership development of our young alumni community in support of their career advancement, well- being and personal and professional satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

Create and execute a systematic strategy for leadership development and engagement of our young alumni community, creating a compelling, cohesive, and actionable plan for this work based upon best practices, alumni interests and economic data indicators.

Identify and execute on the best methods for delivering value added career readiness content to both students and alumni, including facilitation for selected programming that are relevant to the individuals professional field and personal interests.

Develop and implement a compelling engagement strategy for young alumni utilizing marketing programs, social media, and event management.

Provide in-person and virtual career advising to young alumni. Oversee networking events, Denison Connecting, Big Red Roundtable Luncheons, and the piloting / launch of new programs.

Develop an online Alumni Program Toolkit in order for young alumni to have easily accessible relevant information for career transition beyond Denison.

Develop marketing programs utilizing social media and online content to drive increased engagement of young alumni and students, including the potential relaunch of WISR. Launch news programs to highlight young alumni success to celebrate achievements beyond graduation and to reinforce the importance of mentorship.

Create and execute a clearly defined strategy for ongoing leadership development programs for our young alumni community with compelling, cohesive, and actionable plans that provide qualitative and quantitative benefits.
Examples of programs would include: Navigating Real World with Financial management, Lease/ Apartment, well-being, work/ life balance, International travel tips, etc.

Provide current and on trend resources for young alumni as they navigate “next” including programs to engage young alumni to serve as mentors and role models to current Denison students.

Provide Career Development assistance including: Performance Management tools, Onboarding support, Career Transition, Career goal definitions,

Develop and implement a multi-year strategy, with relevant indicators to gauge progress and clear outcomes for success.

Use and analyze the data gathered to date, including piloting programs and information provided by our alumni survey to inform the plan and associated strategies.

Ensure that the vision and strategies for Young Alumni Programming support the overall vision and strategies for Denison’s Alumni Engagement work.

Lead the creation of content to further the leadership development of our young alumni, which includes the following: developing a vision for the content and resource sharing to be housed on the Knowlton Center Web Page; based on the strategy set by the Knowlton Center, include a range of other opportunities, such as creating online webinars and modules for alumni on timely and relevant topics; continuously build content knowledge through research, conference attendance, collaboration with expert external partners in leadership and employer required competencies in order to further the development of our alumni; and organizing Denison Connecting events, alumni round table discussions and informational sessions for students with young alumni.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in the facilitation of professional development in an adult leadership setting, alumni and/or professional career development, or a relevant experience.

Demonstrated ability to work well with people with a very wide diversity of demographic and cultural backgrounds; dedication to achieving results while maintaining an inclusive, collaborative leadership style.

Possess strong demonstrated project management skills (from initiation to execution), possess a thorough understanding and appreciation of industry career paths.

Technology savvy for web-based instructional techniques and tools; strong computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and internet tools.

Willing and available to travel for meetings, programming, and young alumni events as needed. Must be insurable by Denison for driving vehicles.
