The Post-Doctoral Fellow will work with the PI on projects that investigate the role of mucosal immune cells in chronic inflammation of HIV infection and aging using the nonhuman primate model. The project will require molecular biology techniques and assays, confocal and fluorescence microscopy, as well as immunological and microbiological laboratory assays and kits.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Ph.D. or equivalent in Microbiology, Immunology or a related biological science.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:

1. Prior experience in molecular biology, immunology, confocal and/or basic immunological assays including construction of libraries in plasmid vectors and cloning, transfection/transduction of mammalian cells, purification and labeling of antibodies, ELISA, Western blot assay, and Fluorescence microcopy.
2. Strong scientific writing skills and high impact publications.
3. Knowledge of various software programs for both PC and Mac systems.
4. Organizational and supervisory skills required.
