Job Description:


SUNY Empire State College seeks a Program Aide at our Saratoga Springs, NY location.


The Program Aide will be responsible for providing a wide range of day-to-day assistance within the Office of the Registrar. The duties require people, problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as communication with other administrative, functional offices and academic staff. This position requires a comfort level with a technology-rich, multi-tasking environment.


In order to maintain a positive environment for prospective students, students, community members, and College staff, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to:


  • Supports degree audit processes
  • Assists with final academic clearance
  • Processes undergraduate concurrence and degree awards
  • Performs undergraduate degree changes and additions to student records
  • Manages undergraduate Degree Works audit creation and exception processing
  • Works with Registrar staff on office related student record projects
  • Provide students with excellent customer service including telephone, e-mail or in person inquiries


Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:


Applicants must have taken and passed a NYS Civil Service examination and be reachable off the Civil Service eligible list.


If you are eligible for reassignment, reinstatement or transfer, please indicate this in your cover letter. To be eligible for transfer via 70.1 of the Civil Service law, you must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title approved for transfer by Civil Service within two salary grades of the advertised position.


Candidates should be aware that a preferred list, transfer list, placement roster and/or reemployment roster of laid off State employees may be certified against this vacancy by the Department of Civil Service.


Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

Additional Information:


Salary: SG--13 $46,062 - $56,107
