Purpose: To coach and Supervise all aspects of his/her sport.

Essential Functions:

  • Complies with all Flagler College and NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
  • Attends monthly staff meetings and NCAA rules education sessions conducted by the Director of Compliance.
  • Responsible for utilizing the NCAA Compliance Assistant Internet (CAi) Software.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of academically qualified and eligible prospective student-athletes.
  • Conducts practices that are within the NCAA playing and practice season guidelines.
  • Adheres to the philosophy statement of Flagler College and the Athletic Department.
  • Includes written team policies that support the mission of the College and Athletic Department.
  • Scheduling contests and obtains contracts with opposing teams.
  • Stays within budget guidelines
  • Assigns Athletic Scholarships within budget and Financial Aid guidelines.
  • Arranges travel and supervision while traveling.
  • Ensures maintenance and care of Flagler College Property
  • Monitors academic progress of student-athletes.
  • Provides end of season documentation as required by the department.
  • Oversees and coordinates with all assistant coaches and Work Program students assigned to his/her program, ensuring that all duties are clearly understood and performed properly.
  • Keeps the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics informed about his/her program.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to interact and develop working relationships with students, faculty and staff.
  • Working knowledge of rules and regulations of NCAA Division II
  • Preferred; collegiate women's head basketball coaching experience
