Associate Director, Alumni Services & Donor Relations
Description:
Be responsible to increase alumni engagement, build alumni cultivation, deepen donor stewardship experiences, and strengthen the Emerson alumni and donor community in the region.
This position will also be responsible for donor database management, conducting in-person alumni events and attending alumni and donor events and programs.
Report to: VP & Executive Director of Emerson Los Angeles Campus
Work in close partnership with the Associate Director of Alumni Services and Institutional Advance team in Boston, MA.
Campus Location: Los Angeles Center
Required Knowledge:
Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Experience
High level of cultural competence, values, ethics and principles that align with the Emerson Community.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task.
Self-motivation.
Strong intercultural competence and a commitment to continual learning about working with diverse populations.
Ability to understand and navigate systems and policies on behalf of alumni and donors
Must represent Emerson with highest degree of professionalism to both internal and external audiences.
Ability to utilize computer technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs, donor based management, etc. Excellent team building and listening skills. Must be able to provide own transportation. 5-7 years’ work experience in alumni engagement, auxiliary services for not for profit or membership organizations.
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Master Degree or equivalent experience.
Required Prior Work Experience:
At least five years demonstrated experience in sales and/or management of a relationship based portfolio of clients, donors or members.
