The University of Charleston invites applications from computer science professionals with the vision, entrepreneurial spirit and potential to serve as a program director for the University’s new undergraduate degree programs in applied computer science and cybersecurity.

UC is searching for a dynamic faculty member to join the newly created Department of Data Analytics and Computer Science who possesses a strong commitment to teaching excellence.

  • Substantial experience as a practitioner in areas such as coding, programming, information technology, cybersecurity and information assurance
  • The successful candidate also will have the opportunity to play a leadership role in developing additional degree and certification programs that prepare students for successful careers in the private and non-profit sectors
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, information assurance, information security, or closely related cognate disciplines
  • Preference will be given to candidates with both industry and teaching experience, and both in-seat and online course delivery experience
  • Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate with professional experience
  • The start date for the position is negotiable but must begin by August 15, 2019
