Clemson University is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Computational Catalysis to work on projects related to multi scale modeling of aqueous phase heterogeneous catalysis or computationally-driven design of magnetic nanoparticles using machine learning.
The Associate will work as part of a strong interdisciplinary team connecting chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science and engineering to design advanced materials.
Applicants must have earned a PhD (or equivalent) in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science and engineering, physics, or a closely-related field; have research expertise in the field of computational chemistry; and have experience with coding.
Further, applicants must have strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills; be persistent toward solving problems and achieving goals; and be goal-oriented and self-motivated. Fluency in Python and experience modeling electro catalytic systems are desirable.
Applicants should submit a single PDF containing a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, and a minimum of three references with full contact information. Electronic submissions to [email protected] are preferred.
The cover letter should: 1) Discuss why you are a good fit for the Getman Group, 2) Address the requirements about leadership, teamwork, communication, persistence, and self-motivation listed above, and 3) Explain how this position will help you achieve your long term career goals.
